During this difficult time of show cancellations and social distancing, I’ve decided to set up a socially-distanced way to help sustain my music career. I’ve created a subscription-based “fan club” of sorts to bring the music to you. We had the unbelievable privilege of being the musical guinea pigs that tested the studio to make sure everything was up and running properly: we were the first band in years to record at this legendary and historic studio!

Stepping into that room, completely original (cigarette stains and all), was surreal. It was like being transported to that decade in which so much of the music that has shaped my world was created.

Slow Story of Good Blues, Fast

Before I released my first studio album Hear My Melody, I sent a four-song demo to legendary independent blues label Alligator Records. To my shock and awe, founder Bruce Iglauer himself responded! Mr. Iglauer opined that my “vocals needed work”, but my “straight blues was impressive,” referring to the track “Shook My World” that I almost didn’t include on the album (a story for another time.)

Hughes Taylor is an energetic and ambitious blues artist from Macon, Georgia. He is known for his impressive and accomplished guitar playing and unique electric style that infuses traditional blues roots with upbeat and fast-paced blues and classic rock.

The Hughes Taylor Band is a blues/rock power trio that is reminiscent of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Cream.
