Over the last few months, there has been a series of unexpected hiccups in regards to the new album. So, what happened?

The Pivot
As you know, things don’t always go as planned. Light Roast (Roasted Part II) was beginning to stray from the sound I had intended, which is completely natural when recording over a long period of time. However, a couple of the songs weren’t fitting nearly as well as I needed them too for the project as a whole. We made a tough call to pivot, swapping those 2 songs with 2 that are more aligned with the blues sound we’re going for. It feels right and makes sense for Roasted.

The Hard Drive
The Hard Drive Hiccup was a real blow, as it contained some pretty important work. Without getting too technical (please, no more recovery tips), we lost a lot, but thankfully not everything! We’ve accepted what we can’t recover and have moved on, but it definitely added to the delay.

The Plan
We’re WAY behind schedule. Because of the delays, we’ve decided to skip the individual release of Light Roast and focus on the final release of Roasted so we can ensure that we deliver a complete and polished album.

Now the good stuff: we can see the Light (Roast)!
We’re headed to the studio soon to record the 2 new songs. After all the delays and struggles with remote recording, it’s clear live-in-studio is much more efficient- how it should be done.
Despite all the setbacks, I’m thrilled with how Roasted is sounding. It feels great, I think it’ll be worth the wait.

Thank you for your continued support and patience. We’ve found a new working schedule that’s much more sustainable, and I’m ready to get back to sharing updates with you on a regular basis.
I’ll be in touch soon with more details on the studio sessions, and of course, the release date will be coming up before you know it!
Until then, thank you again for everything.
